Funded Participation (Young Delegates)
Eligibility Criteria – Young Delegates Scholarship (GCTS 2026)
To qualify for one of the 15 fully funded delegate slots, applicants must meet the following
criteria:
Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 18 and 45 years of age at
the time of application.
Academic or Professional Background:
Applicants must meet at least one of the following:
Be a current student (diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate) in fields such as
conservation, environmental science, climate studies, tourism, travel,
geography, natural resource management, development studies, or related areas.
Be a recent graduate (within the last 5 years).
Be an early-career professional working or volunteering in conservation, climate
resilience, tourism, community development, social works or sustainability.
Commitment to Conservation & Sustainable Tourism:
Applicants must demonstrate genuine interest in conservation, climate resilience,
community-based tourism, or sustainable development.
Evidence may include volunteer work, academic projects, field activities,
research, activism, or professional roles.
Impact Potential: Applicants must show the potential to apply knowledge
gained from GCTS 2026 to benefit their communities, academic institutions, or
professional networks.
Availability for Entire Event: Applicants must be available to attend
the full conference from 9th –11th November 2026, including travel days and field
excursions.
Passport and Travel Readiness:
Applicants must possess a valid passport (or be in the process of obtaining
one).
Must meet necessary travel requirements for Uganda.
English Proficiency: As the conference will be conducted in English,
applicants must have basic to advanced English communication skills (spoken and
written).
