Terms and Conditions for Funded Applicants of Global Emerging Leaders’ Programme
(GELP2026)
By applying for the Global Emerging Leaders’ Programme (GELP2026)
in Copenhagen, Denmark or Paris, France under the Fully or Partially
Funded Category, you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions.
These terms are binding upon submission of your application, and acceptance
of these conditions is mandatory to complete the application process.
1. Eligibility and Application Submission
a)
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements outlined on the official
event website page at the time of submission.
b)
All information provided must be accurate, complete and verifiable.
Providing false, incomplete, or misleading information may result in
disqualification without notice.
c)
Submission of an application does not guarantee selection for the Fully
Funded Category. The organizing team reserves the right to select
participants at its sole discretion and all decisions are final and
not subject to appeal.
d)
Selected participants are required to confirm their attendance within
the given timeframe. Failure to confirm may result in forfeiture of
the Fully and Partially Funded benefits.
2. Non-Refundable Application Fee
a)
Applicants under the Fully Funded Category and Partially Funded Category
are required to pay an application processing fee as part of the submission process.
b)
The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances,
including but not limited to:
- Failure to be selected for the Fully Funded Category
- Withdrawal of the application by the applicant
- Postponement, cancellation, or change in the event date, venue, or format
By submitting your application and paying the fee, you acknowledge that
no refunds will be provided for any reason.
3. Event Changes, Amendments, and Postponement
a)
The organizing team reserves the right to amend, modify, reschedule,
or cancel GELP 2026 for any reason, including but not limited to
unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, pandemics,
travel restrictions, or political events.
b)
In the event of changes, participants will be notified through the
contact details provided in their application.
c)
The organizing committee is not responsible for any costs, expenses,
or damages incurred by applicants due to such changes, postponements,
or cancellations.
4. Travel and Attendance Requirements
a)
Fully Funded participants will receive Schengen visa assistance,
round-trip travel arrangements and accommodations as outlined by
the organizers (but the organizers will not be liable for visa
rejections should the concerned embassy refuse to issue a visa
to an applicant for any reason).
b)
Participants are responsible for obtaining any travel insurance required.
c)
Selected participants must attend all scheduled sessions, activities,
and workshops throughout the event. Failure to comply may result in
forfeiture of benefits and removal from the program.
5. Media Release and Consent
a)
By participating in GELP 2026, you grant the organizers, partners,
and affiliates the irrevocable right to take photographs and video
recordings of you during the event.
b)
These photographs and videos may be used for marketing, promotional,
and PR purposes by the organizers in current and future events through
any media format, including but not limited to print, online platforms,
and social media.
c)
By accepting these Terms and Conditions, you acknowledge and consent that:

Once any photograph or video of you is uploaded or published,
the organizers are not obligated to remove the content upon your request.

If you request that your photographs or videos not be used in future
materials, the organizers may consider the request at their discretion,
but this will not apply retroactively to already published media.
d)
You waive any rights to review, approve, or claim royalties or
compensation for the use of your image, likeness, or voice in
promotional materials.
6. Code of Conduct
a)
All participants must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully
throughout the event, adhering to the rules and guidelines provided
by the organizers.
b)
Any behavior deemed inappropriate, disruptive, or in violation of
the event’s code of conduct may result in immediate removal from
the event, forfeiture of benefits, and exclusion from future events.
c)
Participants are responsible for any damages they cause to event property
and may be held liable for repair or replacement costs.
7. Liability and Disclaimer
a)
The organizers shall not be held liable for any personal injury,
loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings during the event.
b)
Participants are encouraged to arrange their own travel insurance
to cover unforeseen circumstances such as medical emergencies,
travel delays, or lost luggage.
c)
The organizers will not be held responsible for the consequences
of participants’ actions, including legal or travel-related issues.
8. Force Majeure
The organizers shall not be liable for any delay or failure to
perform their obligations under these Terms and Conditions due to
events beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited
to natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, government actions,
or any other force majeure event.
9. Privacy and Data Protection
a)
By submitting your application, you consent to the collection,
storage, and processing of your personal data by the organizers
for the purposes of event management and communication.
b)
Your personal data will not be shared with third parties without
your consent, except as necessary to provide services related to the event.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
a)
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in
accordance with the laws of Uganda.
b)
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms and
Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the
courts of Uganda.
11. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
